The hype behind the 4S to 6S battery jump is not like the 3S to 4S battery jump from back in the day. The primary reason to upgrade to 4S was for the drastic speed increase it brought to your quad! You can use 6S over 4S and get faster speeds but the more prevalent reasons for upgrading are battery-efficiency and low-end torque. The 6S battery really delivers on the low end torque. Even if you aren't pushing your current 4S quad to its limits, there are definite advantages a lot of pilots will have by moving to 6S.
The Eachine Stack-X board and Stack-X ESC both support up to 6S which made the transition on this quad easy. I replaced some older motors with new ones that support up to 6S. I did not do any PID tuning for this, although it will need some, but the quad flew pretty well with the default settings. It does have a "twitch" every now and then under heavy throttle but it can probably be solved by soft mounting the board.
You can push your 4S motors hard if you want to burn them up or upgrade to 6S compatible motors like the Racerstar BR2507S motors used in this video.
