Batman: Arkham Knight is nearly upon us, giving the Dark Knight the freedom of the city of Gotham and a giant militarised supercar to get around in. It also adds Bats’ various sidekicks such as Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman into the mix. Find out how they’ll be joining in in Show of the Week.
When Rocksteady announced that Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman were going to be in Arkham Knight, and were going to be playable, we immediately thought co-op. But, that’s not the case. Instead we have a different system called dual play. It’s single-player, combat-focused and specific to certain types of missions.
In these dual play situations, Batman and his partner take on a group of thugs together. You start off playing as Bats, but can switch to the other character at any time. Get your combo high enough and you can hit left bumper to activate a dual play takedown where your partner will jump in and do something horribly violent to your enemy. Eat teamwork, crims.
Are you looking forward to the sprawling, complex Arkham Knight or do you prefer the simpler, stripped-back feel of the original Arkham Asylum? Let us know in the comments!
