Apollo Creed's fighting genes are being passed on to a new generation, and folks get ready because we're about to see the return of the Rocky saga. MGM is bringing the legend of Rocky back to big screen in a new movie called Creed, but this time the film will be focusing on the late Apollo Creed's grandson, who will be played by Fruitvale Station & Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan. And it can't be a Rocky film without Rocky Balboa, right? So, you better believe that Syvlester Stallone will be reprising his legendary role, but this time around he is officially retired from the ring and will now be playing a fight trainer to Jordan's character. Creed will be the seventh film in the Rocky franchise. Fruitville Stations director, Ryan Coogler will be taking on directing duties, who has received a lot of attention lately due to the success of that film which has won big at both Sundance and Cannes. And according to Deadline, Creed was Cooglers dream project, and apparently the director really has a passion to incorporate some of the mythology that we saw and loved in the first three films. Jordan will play the grandson to Carl Weather's, Apollo Creed. And apparently Jordan's character grew up in a well to do family, thanks to the riches earned by his grandfather fighter. The family doesn't want Jordans character to box, but he seeks out Rocky Balboa's help to train him anyway. We haven't seen a new Rocky movie since 2006, and the first four Rocky's were arguably the best movies in the series, but do you think that Creed could breath new life back into the franchise?
