Oscar winner J.K. Simmons is set to break out the big guns for his role in next year’s Justice League and we’ve got the pics to prove it! Watch out Batman, it looks like Commissioner Gordon is ready to kick some serious butt in Gotham. While earlier this year we were introduced to new versions of Batman and Alfred to the world of the DC Extended Universe, there was one Gotham denizen that was nowhere to be seen; Commissioner Gordon. We’ve known for some time that Spider-Man star J.K. Simmons would be making the leap from Marvel to DC to take on the role of Gotham’s top cop and one of Batman’s greatest allies and today we not only get our first look at his signature mustache, but it also looks like Simmons’ version of “James Gordon” will be seriously jacked. The actor had previously stated that he would begin filming Justice League this month and it looks like he’s getting ready as he debuted the character’s trademark fuzzy face accessory at the 2016 LA Greek Film Festival. The star was all smiles as he accepted the Orpheus Award for his film, Worlds Apart, which was a huge box office hit in Greece. While his “Gordon” inspired stache is impressive, it was nothing compared to how Simmons looked the day before. Fitness pro Aaron Williamson took to Instagram to show off some photos of Simmons training, pre shave. The bearded 61-year old actor showed off some serious guns that would likely make any of his superhero co-stars jealous. Seriously, who needs Batman with this guy around! In other Justice League news, newly installed co-head of DC Films, Geoff Johns, took to Twitter over the weekend to officially announce that “Part One” would be dropped from the title saying quote, “Clearing up any misconceptions — the Justice League movie is called “Justice League”. The news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise as studios have begun to shy away from titles that suggest moviegoers will be getting an unfinished film that they will then have to wait a year or more to see the conclusion to. Avengers Infinity War directors the Russo brothers previously revealed that film would also be losing its “Part One” though no new title has been announced. So, what do you think of J.K.
