THE FANTASTIC FOUR Director Sets Record Straight

Director, Josh Trank is setting the record straight on all of those Fantastic Four synopsis rumors. Recently we had heard from a site called Acting Auditions that the new Fantastic Four reboot, which is scheduled for a summer 2015 release, was going to take a cue from the publisher's Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book, giving the superhero team a new origin story which would differ significantly from the 1960's spaceflight story. As for the new rumored plot of the movie? The site said that after some monumental occurrence, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm will realize that they acquired these super powered abilities and they somehow are forced into working for the government as weapons. As they get older, these two realize that they are not alone, and they meet two others Sue Storm and Johnny Storm who have the same abilities. Well, Fantastic Four director Josh Trank stepped in to stop the madness! He tweeted "That synopsis is definitely not the synopsis or anything close to the synopsis. I don't know who put that out. byyee." He later responded to a Cinemablend tweet which begged the question: "Are The Fantastic Four Getting A Radical New Origin.? Trank tweeted again "@cinemablend totally false... not true... stop the press..." So, it seems like there's a really good chance we will see the original Fantastic Four story line, which is an important thing if Fox does in fact have plans for the X-Men team and Fantastic Four team to appear on screen together at some point down the road. But that's not all Trank is debunking. He also tweeted to Badass Digest's Kevin Faraci about all of those rumors that Jobs and Frozen star Josh Gad was currently Fox's top choice to play The Thing in the new reboot. Faraci tweeted " I am so very much a fan of Josh Trank, but if they cast Josh Gad as Ben Grimm this movie's gonna really have to work to win me back." Trank replied "first i'm hearing of this... it's not true." Gad, who is one of my favorite people working in Hollywood right now, got in on all of the tweeting action updating all of us on which roles he is actually considering. He said quote "I am currently deciding between playing Aquaman and the Flash. Will let you know when I reach a decision." In all seriousness, though, we are going to keep a close eye on this project for you, because the filmmakers are supposed to be screen testing the cast in the next several weeks so we expect more updates soon.
