We’re getting a new look at some of our favorite Batman characters in Lego form! We’ve got your first look at some of the characters that will be making life tough for Lego Batman. Thanks to USA Today, we’re getting some new pics and new details on next year’s The Lego Batman Movie including our first look at the villainous “Joker”. Voiced by Zach Galifianakis in the film, The Joker will be sporting his iconic purple suit with green hair and will be getting a chance to survey all the damage he’s been causing around Gotham City thanks to a flashy car director Chris McKay describes as his “General Patton car”. McKay says the car will be an inner reflection of The Joker with crazy, zebra-striped seats and of course his own driver in the form of “Harley Quinn”. While there is no word yet on which actress will be voicing Joker’s best girl, from the new photo it looks like she will be depicted in a more classic Quinn style than what we’ll see Margot Robbie sporting in this summer’s Suicide Squad. Makes sense though considering it is a kid’s movie after all. While The Joker will likely be the main antagonist Batman will have to deal with in the film, he won’t be the movie’s only villain. McKay promises that they will be going deep into not only Batman lore, but also DC Comics lore with the movie being completely filled with Batman’s Rogues Gallery…in Lego form, of course. While that sounds like Batman will have a lot to deal with in the film, probably his most challenging task will be that of parent and mentor. In the film, Bruce Wayne will accidentally adopt a child at a charity auction which turns out to be none other than “Dick Grayson”, aka “Robin”. Voiced by Michael Cera, McKay describes Robin as a “super-positive kid” who at the end of the day just wants a hug. The new relationship doesn’t work for Bruce Wayne though as he enjoys his life as a brooding bachelor by day and crime fighting vigilante by night. Robin eventually discovers Batman’s lair and extensive wardrobe collection and fashions his own crime-fighting outfit from that of a Reggae Man costume. While his Robin costume will be easily recognizable to fans, McKay does admit that it’s probably a little more sparkly than they might remember. As for the theme of the film, McKay says Lego Batman is About a Boy if it was directed by Michael Mann explaining quote, “This is a single guy who suddenly has a kid literally drop into his world.” So, what do you think of our first look at The Joker, Robin and Harley Quinn and are you excited to see a sort of unwilling father/son relationship between Batman and Robin explored? Share your thoughts in the comments and then click here to find out what we want to see happen in the movie when it arrives in theaters on February 10th. I’m Tiffany Taylor, thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon with more movie news!
