Jurassic World Teases New Dinosaur
Subscribe Now! ►
Move over Tyrannosaurus, there’s a new King of the Dinosaurs. We’ve known for a long time that this summer’s highly anticipated Jurassic World would be introducing an entirely new, genetically engineered hybrid dinosaur and thanks to the film’s official website we now of a name to attach to those menacing looking teeth, which the site mentions are constantly replaced just like sharks. The new big bad is known as “Indominus Rex”, which means “Fierce of Untamable King” according to the site. She is described as most closely resembling a T-Rex, but her distinctive head ornamentation and bony scales are similar to a dinosaur called the Abelisaurus. Thanks to genetic material from several other dinosaurs, including the Carnotaurus, the Indominus will have horns above its eyes. The roar of the I-Rex is estimated to be 140 to 160 decibels, similar to that of a 747 taking off and landing and has been clocked at speeds of 30 miles per hour while confined to its enclosure. Speaking of it enclosure, the site also teased it high-tech, stadium like facility that is scheduled to open this summer, coincidentally just in time for the film to open – funny how that works. With a new Jurassic World spot set to arrive this Sunday during the Super Bowl, we’ll likely get a better look at the new creation, but what do you think of Indominus Rex so far? Will she be more of a threat than the original T-Rex? Share your thoughts in the comments or tweet us @ClevverMovies and then click here to find out what 7 things we think need to happen in Jurassic World which is set to arrive in theaters on June 12th. Until next time, I’m Dana Ward, thanks for watching!
