We've seen Hugh Jackman take on the role of Wolverine in four films, make a surprise cameo in 2011's X-Men prequel First Class and is set to appear once again in this year's The Wolverine and next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past, but could this much Wolverine be a bad thing? It's no secret that Wolverine is not only one of the most popular X-Men characters, but also one of the most popular comic book characters period. So could we ever have too much of a good thing? According to Mark Millar, who was recently appointed as creative consultant on all of Fox's upcoming Marvel properties, the answer is yes. Millar recently spoke to SciFiNow and revealed that production on The Wolverine had already begun when he landed his new gig, but says the script is terrific, the casting is really good and director James Mangold is "brilliant". As for the character appearing in both standalone films as well as X-Men movies, Millar calls Wolverine a lone wolf character who often will go on solo adventures and then return to "hang out at the mansion" so appearing in both films is quite natural for the character. Despite the natural ability of the character to appear in different films, Millar warns about Wolverine appearing in too many films saying quote, "You don't want to have him out there all the time, because I think if you've got him in X-Men and Wolverine movies and they're all running at the same time, it's a little bit too much but as long as you're smart with it and there's a lot of other characters to explore as well. The X-Men universe is about the same size as the Marvel universe in terms of the number of titles it sustains at any one time, so there's a ton of stuff to play with there and a lot of characters I'd like to explore there too." It's unclear how big a role Wolverine will play in Days of Future Past, but we're guessing it will be at least bigger than his First Class cameo. Are you looking forward to seeing Hugh Jackman on the big screen as Wolverine in two more films and would you like to see even more of him in the future or would you like to see Fox focus on some of their other Marvel characters?
