Eachine Aurora 68 brushless micro: Overview and Mods - BEST FOR LESS

Ducted micros are my favorites for indoor flying and brushless "whoops" are a nice way to keep you in the air, no matter the weather outside.
The Aurora 68 is the shrunken version of the Aurora 90 and they both share the same layout and frame design. The carbon ducts are connected with plastic fittings and are good enough for bumps with furniture or walls but will not survive a good crash. I have broken several ducts and plastic connectors but at least all the parts are available as spares.
With the small weight loss of my mods and with the lightweight 300mAh nanotech 2S packs the Aurora 68 has been fun to fly but I cannot recommend it wholeheartedly. The motor wires were a bit damaged right out of the box, one screw was causing a short between the motor windings and the frame and the F/C had a constant drift on horizon/angle modes (I am flying acro so I didn't bother, I replaced the F/C after a while). There are other options out there at the moment that may be better but if you already own the Aurora 68, give my mods a try. They definitely worth the effort.
