Some of Nickelodeon’s classic animated characters are uniting for a feature film and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver Newsfeed! Move over Marvel, Nickelodeon is set to get their own cinematic universe. Deadline brings word that Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have set Napoleon Dynamite writer/director Jared Hess to helm and co-write, NickToons, a feature film that will unite some of Nickelodeon’s most famous animated characters into one film that is described as being similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. As of now the characters set to be included are from Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh! Real Monsters and The Angry Beavers with others likely to be added. The hope is for the new film to launch a franchise that will take advantage of Nickelodeon’s library of characters from the past 25 years. No word yet on when we could expect NickToons to arrive in theaters, but the complex film is expected to be a priority for the studio. The idea reportedly sprouted from Ali Mendes, an employee of Disruption Entertainment, who will produce the film. Mendes was a huge fan of the characters growing up and came up with an idea to bring them all together into one film. So, who out there is looking forward to seeing NickToons and which other characters would you like see included?
