MEGA EVOLUTION IN POKEMON X AND Y (Escapist News Now)
Mega form Pokemon have been announced along with Mega Evolution. Pokemon reach this state by holding a special "Mega Stone" during battle. Mega stones are pokemon specific with needing Blazikenite to evolve your blazken into mega blazken.
Other mega pokemon revealed so far include MegaAbsol, MegaMawile and MegaMewtwo just to name a few. MegaBlaziken will also only be available via special Nintendo network events during the launch of Pokemon X and Y on October 12th.
Also shown is a new gym leader of Shalour City, Korrina. She is said to have insights into the Mega Evolutions but more than likely you will have defeat her to find out. Another device introduced is special training, where you will play a series of mini games to strengthen your Pokemon's base stats when they're not in battle.
There were also 3 new pokemon introduced. The first one is Dedenne an electric - fairy type which looks exactly like a chinese knock off of Pikachu. This pokemon nuzzles opponents with it's adorable cheeks fully charged to release a dangerous blast of electricity. The next Pokemon Bunnelby is a normal type pokemon with crazy ear strength and the ability to use dig. And lastly, Skiddo is the pre-evolution of gogoat, a grass type Pokemon, seen in previous trailers as a mount and uses grass type attacks.
