One of the biggest reveals from the 2018 Detroit Auto Show was the 2019 Ram 1500. Built atop a lightened, high-strength steel frame the new Ram 1500 is roughly 225 pounds lighter than the previous generation. The 2019 Ram can tow up to 12,750 pounds and both its V6 and V8 engines can be equipped with eTorque, a system that gives the Ram “mild-hybrid” abilities by way of a 48-volt, 300-watt battery pack and a motor/generator that replaces the standard alternator. Perhaps most interesting is a option list that includes a 360-degree camera system, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and a huge 12-inch touchscreen.
