Star Wars Superfan Passes Away Days After Seeing The Force Awakens

A Star Wars superfan has passed away just days after his final wish is granted. It’s with heavy hearts that we bring word of lifelong Star Wars fan, Daniel Fleetwood’s passing. As many of you are aware, Daniel Fleetwood was a 32-year old Star Wars fan diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma back in 2012. His dying wish was to see The Force Awakens which prompted his wife, Ashley, to launch the #ForceForDaniel campaign on Twitter in hopes of getting an early screening. Her tweet ended up going viral and eventually drew the attention of director J.J. Abrams and stars John Boyega and Mark Hamill. On November 5th, Ashley took to Facebook to announce that Daniel’s dying wish had been fulfilled and Abrams himself had called to give the good news posting quote, “Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true! Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!!" Earlier today, Ashley once again took to Facebook to announce that Daniel had passed away in his sleep saying he is now one with God and the Force. Shortly after the announcement, John Boyega took to Twitter to say quote, “Glad you got to see the movie more importantly that you slept in peace.
