Jamie Foxx talks Electro and we have all the details.
While there has been no official announcement about Jamie Foxx taking on the role of Spidey villain Electro, he was mentioned in the Sony press release yesterday about the Harry Osborn casting, so it's pretty safe to say that Foxx will be wearing green spandex pretty soon.
If that wasn't enough to convince you that Foxx is confirmed to play Electro, he spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the casting and said, "Electro is a great character. I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked...I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a...genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on."
Foxx isn't the only newbie joining the Spiderman sequel. Shailene Woodley will be playing Mary Jane Watson and yesterday we told you that Dane DeHaan was cast as the new Harry Osborn. The Amazing Spiderman 2 is due to start shooting early next year and has a scheduled release for May 2, 2014. But if you can't wait until 2014 to see Jamie Foxx on the big screen, you can catch him in Django Unchained which is released on Christmas Day.
Jamie Foxx as super villain Electro, let me know how you feel about it. And with the confirmation of DeHaan it looks like the whole Spidey family has been cast, do you like the way this movie is taking shape? Hit the comments. I'm Aja Dang for Clevver Movies, thanks for watching.
