Liev Schreiber Returning For Wolverine 3?

It looks like Hugh Jackman will have a familiar foe to deal with in his final run as Wolverine and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver Newsfeed. Hugh Jackman may have been a lone wolf in 2013’s The Wolverine, but he’ll be bringing at least a couple friends and foes along for his third and final outing. We previously told you that Jackman would be reuniting with Patrick Stewart for the currently untitled 2017 Wolverine movie and it now looks like we can add Liev Schreiber to the party list. Talking with the Sydney Confidential podcast, Jackman revealed that many fans have requested “Victor Creed” aka “Sabertooth” return to the franchise and it seems they may get their wish. Schrieber played the role in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine and is depicted as Wolverine’s half-brother. Though Schrieber’s return has not been officially confirmed, a recent Twitter exchange between the two actors suggests it is highly likely. Following Jackman’s appearance on Sydney Confidential, he posted a photo of him working out with the caption, “Let’s do this. [Who’s] with me!?” Schreiber then responded, “do I have to do that…” Though this is far from a confirmation that we’ll see Wolverine and Sabertooth reunited in the 2017 film, considering the events of last year’s Days of Future Past basically wiped away the plot of Origins, we’re looking forward to seeing how he could potentially fit into the film’s plot. In addition to the possible return of Sabertooth, Jackman also teased the addition of “berserker rage” in the film saying quote, “I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don’t make it the last, but I’m really excited about this last one, and if you’re a comic book fan, then the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.” In the comics, “berserker rage” happens when Wolverine loses control and allows his animalistic instincts to take over and has no regard for the lives of those around him; friend or foe. This aspect of the character has only been hinted at in previous films and with Wolverine 3 being Jackman’s last time in the role, expect to see that and a lot more of what the fans have been asking for making it into the film. So, what do you think of Liev Schrieber potentially returning as Sabertooth and do you think we’ll see a true depiction of “berserker rage” when Wolverine 3 arrives in theaters on March 3rd, 2017?
