This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jasper Grosskurth, specialist in African markets, futures studies and sustainability assessment, offers a wide-angle view of the state of technology in a rising Africa in this TEDxJohannesburg 2014 talk. He presents clear and crisp pictures of current states and immediate futures of mobile communications, fibre-optic connectivity, startup incubators, road networks, flight hubs, electricity provision and renewable energies in this brief but very useful analysis.
Dr Jasper Grosskurth is the Managing Director at Research Solutions Africa Ltd. He studied International Economic Studies and Psychology at Maastricht University and Trinity College Dublin, and obtained his PhD in Integrated Sustainability Assessment from Maastricht University in 2008. Dr Grosskurth authored ‘Futures of Technology in Africa’ in 2010.
