The trailer begins on a wintry landscape not unlike the one where Steve took his plane down in his first film [0:00-0:02]. We then cut to what appears to be a heavily fortified security facility that’s housing none other than Steve’s old best friend, Bucky the Winter Soldier. This quick opening sequence is paired with a voiceover from Cap telling the audience and presumably an unseen character that the job of a superhero means trying to save as many people as you can, but sometimes that doesn’t mean everybody. The imagery suggests Cap is referring to the Winter Soldier’s fate, but it also rings true with the themes of the whole film’s setup, in that some of the destruction of the Avenger’s films has come with a lot of collateral damage. Most likely, this is a conversation about the Sokovia accords. Also one has to wonder how Bucky ended up back in custody? Flashback? Tony’s prison?
