Stephen Lang Returning For AVATAR Sequels

Although we thought Avatar's Colonel Miles Quartich met his demise the last time we saw him on the big screen, it looks that's not the last we'll be seeing of him. According to director James Cameron, Stephen Lang will be back to reprise his villainous role in the next three Avatar films, saying the actor was, "So memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back." This news obviously raises questions, like, "Didn't he get shot in the chest last time?" The answer, my friends, is yes...twice. So it looks like James Cameron's got some explaining to do on how Quartich survived two Na'avi arrows. Aren't they supposed to stop your heart in one minute? So how will he make his return, and fit into the storyline of the upcoming sequels? Cameron stayed tight-lipped on the matter, and avoided revealing how we'll see this villain next, but Deadline reports he did say, "His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga." Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to get more information but earlier this week The Guardian reported that first installment of the upcoming Avatar movies will begin shooting in October 2014 and will hit theaters in December 2016. The second will follow with a December 2017 release date, and we'll get the third a year later, in 2018. So what do you think's in store for Quartich, and are you looking forward to having him back?
