Nano Talon Review pt.2 - LOS Maiden

Here's another installment on the Nano Talon video series. In this one I've got an R/C receiver and a battery installed, and flew the plane via line of sight. No FPV gear yet, but the weather was too good not to fly... lol Basic FPV gear will be installed for the next video... Stay tuned!
Now now, I can say that the little plane flies better than I expected it to, being so small and light. The stock stabilizer is a little strange in how it works, but I think I got it figured out pretty good. It works well, but there's so much dihedral in the wings, they do get knocked around a bit even in light wind as you see here. (almost calm, just light gusts 5mph or less) I was happy with the power with the stock motor/prop and ESC, even on a 3S 1500 LiPo.
I'll hold my final thoughts until I've flown it with FPV! No matter how you look at it though, there's no escaping the ~$100 price tag, which to me is at the high end of what I want to pay for a small plane like this.
Here's a link to the plane on Banggood where I purchased this one: This is for the PnP with stabilizer, servos, motor, and ESC.
There's also a kit version and one that comes with a camera and transmitter that also records HD if you're interested in either of those...

One last thing... I'm not sure how good the video quality will end up on this one. I recorded the video in 2.7K then cropped a 1080p frame out of the center to get a narrower field of view, hoping to get closer view of the plane. I encoded at a relatively high bitrate, and the video looks great on my end, but it seems YouTube has butchered the quality as usual... lol Maybe it will improve once they've had more time to transcode the video. I did the best I can, apart from trying a ridiculously high bitrate to see if it's any better, but my upload speed here is less than 1Mbps (512K DSL or ~850K mobile data, part of living out in the country I guess! lol) This upload already took me all day.

Here's some affiliate links to the video gear I use from Ready Made R/C:
1.3GHz video transmitters (I use 200, 400, 800, and 1500mW on various planes)
I recommend this receiver to go with them. I use an older Racewood type they used to sell, but these are supposed to be at least as good with the same Comtech tuners in them. Apparently Racewood is no longer in business, so here's what replaced them:
I use this 8dbi Patch Antenna, it has been my go-to antenna for a long time now, for years! lol I've been out more then 10 miles using one of these and the 800mW vtx listed above:
On the transmitter side, the stock dipoles that come with them work pretty good together with that patch, but if you want slightly better performance and less weight/drag, consider these:
