Foxeer Predator Mini: Overview & Comparison with CCD mini FPV cameras - BEST FOR LESS

I have been eagerly waiting for the Foxeer Predator Mini to arrive. Since I saw the first DVR footage from it, I was impressed by the dynamic range and the amount of detail in high contrast scenes its sensor can capture.
This comes at a cost, since the image looks more artificial and less realistic - a trade-off you may be willing to make though, in order to "see more" in harsh shadows and/or direct sunlight.
The settings and the way they affect the final image of the video feed are significantly different, compared to the CCD cameras. A direct 1:1 correlation to "match" each setting was not possible, so I decided to compare the cameras in their default settings - disabling AGC on the CCD cameras to prevent over-exposure during the high-contrast daylight comparison.
As you can see in the footage, the 1.8mm lens doesn't do it justice. It produces a large flare in direct sunlight and a significant amount of light scattering when the light source is on its side. The Predator Mini is also available in a 2.5mm configuration but you will probably be able to use any lens you want, as long as it has a matching thread size. Foxeer is already working on a new lens that will suit it better.
