Welcome to my cooking channel (food channel)!
In this video I'm going to show you how to make easy delicious Korean food bulgogi in a hot pot! We call, Bulgogi Jeongol.
It's anther way to eat delicious bulgogi. Bulgogi is the most popular Korean BBQ. We grill it, pan fry or stir fry it, and also make in a hot pot with lots of vegetables like in this video!

Bulgogi Jeongol.
Bulgogi means Korean BBQ Beef and Jeongol means Hot Pot.
Jeongol commonly served and cooking on table.
Usually every ingredients are in a pot already(as shown as the picture above), you just need to bring to boil, cook thought and eat it!!!
It's a great meal to get together with all your family and friends at the dinner table and have fun!
Everyone will enjoy this type of meal at home!!
Bulgogi Jeongol (Korean BBQ in a Hot Pot Recipe)
Ingredients
2 lb. beef (such as rib-eye, tenderloin or sirloin), cut into paper thin*
5 Tablespoons soy sauce for beef plus 1/4 cup for borth
2 Tablespoons mirin (seasoned rice wine)
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
2 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
5 cloves garlic, finely chopped for beef, plus 2 cloves garlic, whole for broth
1 medium size sweet onion - 2 Tablespoons minced for beef, 1/4 of onion as chunk for broth and sliced rest of onion for later.
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 1/2 cup water
8"x 4" dried kelb (kombu or dasima)
1/2 of medium size carrot
1 dried shiitake mushroom
1/4 cup rice wine
1/2 block firm tofu, cut into 1/2" thick slices
4 green onion, sliced in diagonal angle
10 to 15 oz. Mushrooms
(Such as shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, brown beech mushrooms, baby portobello mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, button bell mushrooms and more!!) If you like more mushrooms, you can keep adding while you cooking!
1 read chili, optional
5 oz. Korean glass noodles (starch noodles, Dangmyeon), soaked in cold water for 30 minutes
Directions
First thing is first, Let's marinate beef first! Combine beef and next 8 ingredients in a medium mixing bowl, mix with your hand so it will be coated evenly. Cover and marinate at least 1 hour to over night.
In a medium sauce pan, add water and next 4 ingredients plus remaining soy sauce, garlic and onion. Bring to boil and take out the dried kelp when it starts boil, other wise you will have slimy texture in your broth. Simmer for 20 - 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, assemble a hot pot with all the vegetables, arrange all the mushrooms, sliced onion, green oinon and tofu evenly. Place marinated beef right on the middle.
Drain broth through a strainer and pour the clean broth into assembled pot.
Now, you can start cooking and serve after it finished cooking or cooking on a table and eat as it cooks.
When it starts boiling it's time to add soaked glass noodles if you prepared.
You can enjoy as it is, but if you serve with warm cooked rice, kimchi, Korean style salad(written recipe below) or any side dishes you prepared, it's even better!
Korean Style Side Salad
Ingredients
A small bunch of garlic chive, cut into 2" long strips
1/4 of medium size sweet onion, thinly sliced
2 handful mixed green, arugula or spinach
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and toss it evenly.
Serve cold, best with Korean BBQ.
