The Diatone GT2-200 Crusader is a hard act to follow. It set a new standard for almost ready to fly mini quads when it appeared in 2016. It went through a couple of minor versions but was generally very fast, agile, but had a few niggles and issues, not least the habit of bricking ESCs with Betaflight and Blheli firmware updates.
You can find the detailed setup in part 2

Diatone have addressed this in the new 2017 model by changing to a Fury F3 flight controller and SunnySky ESCs and motors.
But is it worth upgrading to the new model if you already have the original one?
In this review I'll do a detailed comparison between the two and checkout how the stretch version of the GT2017 model performs. The maiden flight was pretty twitchy so in part 2 I'll cover what I change to get it sorted, fit a receiver and a buzzer.
This wasn't helped by the massive high frequency vibration I thought I was seeing. This turned out to be the lens on the HS117 was loose and just moving around - a new one on me.
