eddy current ( Foucault currents) is the current that is induce in the body of the little sheet of metal the moment you remove the magnet field. It's localized in that thin metal sheet. The problem is that when you have rotating magnet, you have forward then reverse magnetic field the makes the current in the body move in both direction in that sheet of metal. That generate heat!! you can make your motor with one big block of metal but that will generate too much eddy current, so that is why transformer and motors are laminated in thin sheet of metal. The smaller you have those lamination, the less intense is the current thus less heat! All that is for efficiency. The DYS Fire have 0.10mm lamination while the rest of our motor are 0.15mm. One year ago, everyone was at 0.20mm.
