Racekraft 5045 TCS - Prop Review

Racekraft's new 5045 prop is mostly a departure from their 'Crane Style' designs. It seems like an attempt at an acro prop that handles well with more speed and durability than the well known 5x4x3 variants. The resulting prop looks similar to the Cyclone T5040C but as we know, minor changes in a prop can make a significant impact. That being said, the two props feel very similar in the air and both are a distinct improvement over the 5x4x3 in all aspects with the RK 5045 achieving a definite higher top speed and has a bit more spring in its step than the T5040C. Throttle control is excellent, grip is excellent, response is even similar despite its 4.8g weight (1g more) and rigidity is much much higher. The drastically increased rigidity is confidence inspiring in the durability department but may result in broken rather than bent blades in a race setting. The amps are exactly as expected. Similar to the Cyone T5045C and about 40% more than the 5x4x3 at max. Don't mistake this bland overview, this is a spectacular freestyle prop that feels durable enough in the hand for racing with enough speed to match the extremely popular Cyclone T5046C. This prop quickly makes it to my short list of go-to props along with the Cyclone T5040C and the Gemfan 5152. Really nice job by Racekraft.
