Well, this turned out to be an interesting day!! After taking a good long rest, I finally took the Raptor V2 out for a true FPV flight, and this time I decided to take it to the top of Mount Vitosha, above Sofia, where Air Traffic Control and the Military have some radars set up. I thought the radars might interfere with the 5.8Ghz video and the 433Mhz system, but actually they did not, so the flight was a success. The radars were located about 5300 meters away and 1300 meters up from the take off location.
I flew the plane with my Rlink radio system and there was not much change between the RSSI when the plane was on the ground, and when it was at the top of the mountain next to the radars!! For video I use 200mW 5.8Ghz Boscam Vtx with a crappy Chinese antenna, and a helical that I made myself on the ground.
Overall I am extremely happy with the results and how this plane handled, and as soon as the bigger wings get here I might try something even more extreme. :)
