Lady Gaga Joins 'Machete Kills' Cast

Lady Gaga has conquered the music world and now it looks like she's planning to take over the silver screen as well. In a world where most news is reported before it actually happens, director Robert Rodriguez and the pop superstar has somehow managed to do something few have been able to as of late. Not only did they personally announce Lady Gaga's role in the upcoming Machete Kills, but already shot it and even tweeted out a character poster with the announcement.
Gaga will play "La Chameleon" in the sequel to 2010's Machete starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez who will be reprising their roles in the film. Director Rodriguez tweeted the news saying, "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!"
Gaga confirmed the news tweeting out, "Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane."
It's not clear what role "La Chameleon" will play in the film, but the sequel finds Trejo's Machete, a ex-Federale who is contacted by the President of the United States asking him to take down a drug lord that is threatening a nuclear attack on the country. The cast also includes Sofia Vergara, Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen as the President.
In addition to a first look at Lady Gaga in the film, we also are getting a look at co-star Alexa Vega's character "Killjoy". Vega previously worked with Rodriguez on the Spy Kids franchise.
