Production on Fox’s Gambit movie is set to begin in a couple months, but could they be losing their star? Today’s episode of Clevver Newsfeed is brought to you by T-Mobile. It looks like we could have to wait a little longer to see Channing Tatum play a superhero on the big screen. The Wrap reports that Tatum is planning to exit next year’s X-Men spinoff over issues with his deal. Though no specific details were given, individuals close to the project suggest that the studio and Tatum’s reps are still in active negotiations to work out a deal for him to stay on. Though Fox’s Comic Con panel earlier this month focused on next year’s other ¬X-Men movies, Deadpool and Apocalypse, Tatum did make a surprise appearance to help take a photo with both casts as well as Stan Lee and gave a quick tease of his Cajun accent. We told you earlier this week that the studio is fully getting behind the Gambit movie with an estimated budget of $155 million which would be the most expensive X-Men solo movie to date. The Wrap speculates that despite the film being a passion project for Tatum, his interest in moving behind the camera to direct could be the motivation for him exiting the project. Keep in mind that Tatum’s possible exit from the Gambit movie is not confirmed and should be considered rumor at this point, but if it does happen, which actor would you like see replace him?
