We’ve got some new info on Captain America 3 and we’re sharing it right now on Clevver Newsfeed! So what exactly is the deal with Spider-Man, Black Widow and some of the other characters in Captain America: Civil War? Following last week’s first trailer, Entertainment Weekly delved deeper into the film with this week’s cover story, including a confirmation that we will in fact see Tom Holland suit up as Spider-Man in the film. While most of the cast were mum on the subject with Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes in the film, even saying he has no idea who Tom Holland is, EW reports they have seen Holland wearing a full Spider-Man suit on set while filming a battle sequence. According to the magazine, the suit is the traditional red and blue we’ve seen before despite Marvel’s Kevin Feige saying the suit will be very different from the previous versions. While Feige attempted to brush it off as a cosplayer who just happened to sneak on to the super-secret suit wearing Spider-Man cosplay, Robert Downey Jr wasn’t afraid to talk about Spidey’s appearance saying quote, “Don Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this.’ We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]. But we’re also looking around like, “Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man…?’ I mean it’s like wow, this this is just crazy.” While RDJ gushed over the webslinger joining the ranks of the MCU, co-star Chris Evans was quick to attempt to quell expectations reminding everyone that not everything Marvel shoots always ends up in the movie. It’s probably a safe bet to though that we will see Spider-Man swinging back onto the big screen come May 6th. Another important character that will be appearing in the film is Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson spoke briefly about her role in the film to EW. While previous concept art showed her siding with Stark, Johansson says she’s more of the mediator in the film, a role she’s not used to taking on. She went on to say that Widow sees both sides of the conflict and can look at it without getting personally involved. Her main motivation appears to be bringing Cap in before the government attempts to take him out indefinitely. Two characters that we have less knowledge about their motivations are Daniel Bruhl’s “Baron Zemo” and Martin Freeman’s as yet unnamed character. While Zemo in the comics has long been an antagonist to Captain America and helped recruit villains for Iron Man in the comic version of “Civil War”, Feige says the film version of Zemo will be an original take on the character who will be a product of the events that we’ve seen play out in the previous films. As for Martin Freeman’s character, we know that he’s a government official and Feige hints that he won’t play a large role in the film, but will see his role in the MCU expanded further in a future Marvel film. So what do you think of this new information and which future Marvel movie do you think we’ll see Martin Freeman’s character expaned?
