X Men Apocalypse Cast Young Storm, Cyclops & Jean Grey

After a slew of rumors and possibilities, X-Men Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has revealed the actors set to play young versions of original X-Men Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey. That’s right, the wait is finally over! Singer took to twitter to announce the newest mutants set to appear in next summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Alexandra Shipp, who played singer Aaliyah in last year’s television biopic and will be seen in the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton later this year has been cast as young “Storm”, played by Halle Berry in the original trilogy and last year’s Days of Future Past. Mud star Tye Sheridan will take over the role of “Cyclops” from James Marsden and Sophie Turner, who plays “Sansa Stark” on HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones will play a young “Jean Grey”, a role Famke Janssen has had in all but 2 of the X-Men films. For those of you wondering why the original stars are being replaced for younger actors, X-Men: Apocalypse is set roughly a decade after the events of Days of Future Past and will take place in the 1980’s, about 20 years before the events of 2000’s original X-Men movie. Most of the 1970’s era cast members will return including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and Hugh Jackman. Star Wars The Force Awakens’ Oscar Isaac will play the film’s title villain, “Apocalypse”, who is one of the world’s first and most powerful mutants and was teased in the end credits of Days of Future Past. Issac recently revealed that his costume will be a mixture of digital and practical effects and with his ability to control the molecules of his body, we could see him transform several times in the film. Production on X-Men Apocalypse is expected to begin in April in Montreal for a May 27th, 2016 release. So what do you think of the actors cast to play young versions of Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey?
