With Michael Bay spending most of his time defending the planned Ninja Turtles movie, there's been little news on his biggest franchise, Transformers.
Thanks to website TFW2005, we're getting some new info on Transformers 4 including a new logo and details on what we can expect from the film when it hits theaters June 27th, 2014. Hasbro President and CEO Brian Goldner told attendees at the UBS Best of Americas Conference that despite Transformers: Dark of the Moon earning over a billion dollars at the box office, the film failed to translate into big toy sales. The main culprit was the fact that the film focused on the same robot characters seen in the previous films. So what does that mean for the fourth film? New robots, of course! The film will reportedly introduce a new cast of Autobots and Decepticons and the plot will revolve around these new robot characters.
Bay himself revealed back in June that Transformers 4 would include a new cast of characters, but would not be a reboot and would continue the timeline of the original films. So does this mean we won't be seeing series regulars like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee? It's doubtful they would completely abandon their main robot characters, but expect to see a whole new group of Autobots and Decepticons. Perhaps we'll finally be getting to see the Dinobots on the big screen?
So what do you think of the direction they are taking with the fourth film and which Transformers would you like to see added to the roster? Give us your thought below or tweet us @ClevverMovies. I'm Simone Boyce in Hollywood, thanks for watching!
