Kevin Feige talks the future of Phase Three and dishes on Marvel Zombies, Doctor Strange, and Inhumans. The future of phase 3 is still a bit unknown for all of us, and even perhaps for the studio, but Marvel's President of Production, Kevin Feige was dishin just a little bit to Entertainment Weekly about which characters thinks are possibilities for Marvels future, and the projects that he thinks are going to stay shelved this time around. One property that Marvel fans were hoping would show face in phase 3 is Marvel Zombies. Feige loves the idea of the story, but thinks that there may be some issues with it's graphic nature for younger fans saying quote "Are you going to draw figures in chalk with your 3-year-old with Hulk eating someone? Or Captain America with his brains coming out of the top of his head? Probably not..." So, I wouldn't get your hopes up for Marvel Zombies, at least as long as Disney is involved, which may be forevvver, but what about some of the other comics? Well, Feige talked about Doctor Strange, which we have heard was a strong possibility for a while, and he thinks that Strange has great origins, and can really be a strong standalone character with a story we haven't seen yet saying quote "There's a whole supernatural/magic alternate dimension going on in the Marvel comics that we haven't ever touched on. So I think that's exciting [and] I think there's any number of actors who would be chomping at the bit to play this guy." Ok, so Strange's future seems very likely, which I am pretty excited about, but what about the story of Kree's abandoned test subjects, the Inhumans? Well Feige likes their story a lot, and said quote "All the craziness that comes with Inhumans, we've done in the other movies already. But this would have some of the social drama that we haven't really done yet." So, there seems like there is some potential interest with Inhumans as well. But what about some of the other characters like Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and Blade? Well, while Marvel may have recently gained the rights to these character's stories, Feige made it seem like Marvel wasnt in any rush to jump into these stories just yet saying "They all have potential, but I think we need to find the right time. We're not going to say, we got it back — make it."
Many of you out there have been hoping for a Black Panther movie for a while now and there has been a ton of speculation regarding casting and even suggestions that The Avengers 2 scouting locations in South Africa is indication that we'll be seeing him introduced in the sequel. So what does Marvel say about a possible Black Panther movie? Well they insist all the rumors and reports are just speculation at this point.
So, right now Ant Man is the only property leading the way for Phase three, but it looks like the studio is starting to narrow the long list of other potential characters. But, if you could pick your top 3 movies for phase three, what would they be? Make sure to list those down for us in the description, and go ahead and sub to our channel here so we can keep you connected with your favorite movie news. For ClevverMovies, Im Erin White.
