Way before the SNES game Star Fox (note the space), released in 1993, there were several other StarFox games. One of those was released in 1987 for the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC. Developed by Realtime Games and released by Reaktor (of Ariolasoft), this game also sees us fighting a war, in space, with solid vector shapes as our enemy. But its there where the similarity ends, and we find ourselves more in a Star Raiders/Elite style game, battling to bring peace to the Hyturian System. This game was actually called The Rubicon Alliance over in north America, so is this game then the reason that Star Fox was renamed Star Wing on the SNES over in Europe? Let's delve in and find out.
