One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Batman v Superman has been revealed and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver Newsfeed. Director Zack Snyder finally confirms what we’ve all suspected about Batman v Superman’s “Robin”. When the first trailers dropped for Batman v Superman, fans were teased with the image of Ben Affleck’s “Bruce Wayne” looking solemnly at a damaged and graffiti ridden Robin suit displayed in the Batcave. The graffiti suggested Batman’s greatest foe, The Joker, had something to do with it with many speculating that The Joker had killed Robin while others suggested the holes in the suit hinted that Jared Leto’s “Joker” was actually Robin. Both scenarios could be traced back to various comic book storylines with the former most famously connected to the “A Death in the Family” storyline in which the second Robin, Jason Todd, is beaten by Joker with a crowbar and then seemingly killed in an explosion. While we didn’t get any actual explanation of the Robin suit in Dawn of Justice, director Zack Snyder has confirmed the suits origin in a recent interview with IGN. According to Snyder, the damaged suit belonged to Robin who had died roughly 10 years earlier at the hands of a young Joker explaining quote, “I felt like the whole idea was that there had been loss and there had been sacrifice. In a weird way, he had sacrificed everything to be Batman. He doesn’t really have a life outside the cave. I thought that including Robin, a dead Robin, was helping us understand that he’s been on quite a little journey.” We know that Affleck will make an appearance in this summer’s Suicide Squad, but whether or not we’ll ever find out more about the fate of Robin remains to be seen. We told you yesterday that Affleck has already written a screenplay for a Batman movie and while it’s unclear when we could potentially see that film, it has been rumored to be based on the “Under the Hood” storyline which tells the story of Jason Todd’s return as the villain known as “Red Hood”. So, what do you think of Zack Snyder’s “Robin” explanation and do you think we’ll ever see it play out on the big screen? Share your thoughts in the comments and then click here to find out what we want to see happen in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie. I’m Sarah Whittle, thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon with more movie news.
