Yes, I admit it. I am obsessed with micros. And I have been looking forward for the micro scene to gain popularity. This way it would gain the attention required for proper hardware to be available in such a small form factor.
During the last few months the developments have been great, with a plethora of new and small ESCs and F/Cs. Something was missing though as far as Receivers was concerned.
I am solely using FrSky and fly with a Taranis X9D. Micro receivers for this protocol are plenty but very few have some sort of telemetry, mostly just RSSI and voltage - and these are not even full range. Feel free to let me know your suggestions if I have missed another product but this FrSky XSR-M receiver seems to be what I have been craving for.
It is a full range D16 diversity receiver with smart port (s.port) for telemetry, in a board 20x20mm small and very light. And it looks like it is great for any build, not just micros!
A build with this Rx is just around the corner, can't wait!

Manufacturer's product page:
The product manual and latest firmware can be found here:
There is also the XSR-E receiver which seems to be exactly the same but a collaboration between FrSky and Eachine:
I am thinking of combining the FrSky XSR-M with the FlexRC Pico Core, what do you think?
FlexRC also has a 20x20mm to 16x16mm adapter which will come in handy:
The one I have is a 20x20mm 3d printed part with 2mm holes but is available in other variations as well:
