Guardian's Dave Bautista To Play Bond Villain

James Bond has faced some tough villains in his day, but come next year he’ll have to go toe-to-toe against a Guardian of the Galaxy! Back in August, Bond fansite MI6 revealed that producers were looking for a “classic, physically imposing henchman” for the 24th Bond film to face off against star Daniel Craig. The idea was to find an extremely fit actor over 6’ 2” in the vein of classic henchman like Jaws and Oddjob that would not only be an imposing figure for Bond to face, but also someone that could potentially become an instant film icon. Well, according to Latino Review, that imposing figure is none other than Drax himself, Dave Bautista. According to a leaked casting breakdown, the character is currently being referred to as “Hinx” and will be the main henchman/assassin in the film. He will reportedly have several fight sequences with Bond and possibly involved in an action-packed driving sequence. Filming on Bond 24 is scheduled to begin in December and will continue through June for a planned November 6th, 2015 release. Skyfall director Sam Mendes will return to helm the project. In other Bond news, the Daily Mail recently reported that Blue is the Warmest Color actress Lea Seydoux has been cast as the new Bond Girl and will play a femme fatale in the film. So far neither Bautista nor Seydoux have been confirmed just yet, but with production set to begin in just over a month, we should hear official casting news soon.
