Trying out new props.
Testing these Gemfan 5040x3 from Bangood.
-The good: they give heaps of thrust yet they don't seem currect hungry. They are quieter than the HQ's, the leading edge shape and hub design perhaps contribute to this.
The plastic on the orange ones I got is of good quality, very similar to the HQ. Come pretty well balance wise, some don't need it, most just a little material scraping on the top side of the blade with a sharp blade does the trick. Most impressive is how the quad shoots up effortlessly on punch outs, long flight are possible at cruise speed. The hub and blade root design is very clever, 9/10 for me.
The bad: quite a few of CW ones I got are a bit arched up, the blades aren't evenly horizontal, no big deal but had to mention it, likely they cooled down too fast after molding, I've reported it to BG.
Cost:
The Gemfan are 0.84p per blade incl shipping, the HQ are £1.49 per blade+shipping.
Conclusion, awesome equal to superior performance at almost half the price, a non brainer for me.
