We’re used to seeing Dwayne Johnson go fast and furious, but he’ll soon be going on a Rampage. Dwayne Johnson is set to add yet another big franchise to his resume and this one’s based on a popular video game from the 80’s. Deadline reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be reteaming with his San Andreas producer to star in a live-action feature based on the classic Midway Arcade Game, Rampage. The game focused on a giant gorilla, lizard and werewolf who go on, you guessed it, a rampage across the world destroying buildings and landmarks in major cities. Johnson will reportedly be tasked with taking the monsters out and stopping their, once again, rampage. Production on Rampage is expected to begin sometime next year after Johnson wraps Fast & Furious 8 which is currently set for an April 14th, 2017 release. No word yet on when we could expect Rampage to hit theaters, but a late 2017/early 2018 release seems likely. No director for the film is currently set, but Non-Stop writer Ryan Engle penned the script. Johnson recently signed on to a remake of the 80’s classic Big Trouble In Little China and is currently shooting the comedy Central Intelligence opposite Kevin Hart and Aaron Paul. So, what do you think of Dwayne Johnson starring in a big screen adaptation of Rampage and what character would you like to see him play?
