«This time DrDr chose to revive the mythic 2002 Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake with one of their brilliant cover.
Apart from being another testimony of their great taste and skills (I mean, don't tell me you didn't love that song back in the days), this cover definitely push the UK future bass scene a little further. Because there is true innovation in their work. They did not simply remix the pre-existing song but re-created it to remix it, re-constructed it to deconstruct it. And this gives a new dimension to their work.
The somber atmosphere of the intro instantly drags us in the depth of the lyrics' meaning, in all their darkness. Announced by the percussions, the vocal part is tremendous. The instrumental for its part manages very well the intensity with its different variations in rhythm, from the cold intro to the more R'n'B inspired beat in the second half of the track. It finishes on a few delicate piano notes superimposed on the original's end. You can dowload this absolutely brilliant cover for free on DrDr's Facebook Page.»
