I have three words for my Marvel fans out there: Agent Coulson lives!
Fanboys and girls, you can come out of mourning now because news out of New York Comic Con is that Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson in an upcoming TV pilot for ABC called 'Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jeph Loeb, Head of Television for Marvel, announced at the company's panel that the pilot will resurrect Coulson's character, but other than that, no other plot details were revealed.
As you all know, Agent Coulson died in 'The Avengers' at the hands of Loki, which ultimately brought the Avengers together to avenge his death and of course, save the world.
The live-action series from 'The Avengers' writer-director Joss Whedon, will mark his return to series television as he was the creator of cult favorites 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Firefly' and 'Dollhouse'. The project has been in the works at Marvel TV and ABC Studios for some time and there are a few other projects in development at ABC, including a 'Hulk' series.
