It’s a sad but true fact that a lot of The Bearded Man’s closest friends are idiots. Just dumb people doing super dumb things. Like when they went on a “mini safari” in Nairobi. They were driving an ’84 Volkswagen, manual transmission, and the muffler was literally hanging underneath the car, almost scraping rocks as they drove. No part of the idea inspired confidence. They drove deeper and deeper into the wildlife preserve, when suddenly they chanced upon a rather large group of elephants. Normal people would have been content to snap a pic from the car, but not our hero’s friend. No. He simply had to get out and get closer to the elephants for a REALLY good picture. He walked closer. And closer. The Bearded Man yelled: “Dude! We gotta go soon!” “We got time man!” Was the reply. Well, of course he got too close. And a massive bull elephant took notice and was about to charge him and the car, with the whole herd right behind him. He trumpeted thunderously, and there was a pretty real chance they were all gonna die. The Bearded Man slammed the car into reverse, but it wasn’t like it was fast to begin with. He started driving backwards until his friend got in the car, then they reversed for another 2 miles as fast as the car would go, with the elephants in hot pursuit. Yep. Idiots.
