We may be many years away from ever seeing a Justice League movie, but director Guillermo Del Toro is hoping to amp up the DC Universe momentum with Dark Universe in the meantime. Del Toro was busy promoting his new film, Pacific Rim, at Wondercon but he wasn't too shy in talking about his script for the favorite DC dark hero team. He pretty much confirmed that the script has Deadman, Spectre, Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon, and John Constantine, as well as Swamp Thing all together, with all of the members origins being what he calls "delivered and explored throughout the film instead of all at once, up front." He says that while we will find Swamp thing at peace with his origins, Deadman will be still on the search for the one who shot him. Fans might also be happy to know that Del Toro wants to take a different approach John Constantine than was taken in the 2005 Contstantine movie. His Constantine will be the protagonist in the film, and will be based on his character in the Vertigo series, Hellblazer. And his job will be to join the team together. Now so far, the working title of the movie is Dark Universe, but that may or may not change to Justice League Dark, which would be a nod to the 2011 DC Comics' New 52 which was where we saw all of these characters join together for the first time. So, what do you all think of this? Would you perfer a Dark Universe over a Justice League first? And would you want Del Toro to helm the project?
