Morbius To Appear In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'?

We already know that Jamie Foxx will play Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but can we expect to see another villain join the cast?
According to a Twitter conversation involving The Dark Knight actor Asim Ahmad and music/movie producer Stefanie Levina, it might be true. Levina claimed that Ahmad will be playing Morbius in the Spider-Man sequel. Now Twitter isn't always the most reliable source of information, but instead of denying the claim, Ahmad responded by saying, "Morbius is only mentioned in two pages, not a big part."
Later, a post on his official website, asimahmad.com, confirmed that he will indeed be playing the role of Professor Michael Morbius, but removed the mention of Morbius the Living Vampire from the post. Michael Morbius is a doctor afflicted with a fatal blood disease who is given vampiric abilities after an experiment to cure his disease goes wrong. Sony has yet to release any official statements regarding this news, so we'll have to wait for official verification. Not to mention the fact that SuperHero Hype has been tweeting they have a source saying that Ahmad has NOT been cast in Spider-Man 2?
This could make for some interesting plot twists in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but considering that Ahmad also tweeted that his role of Morbius will be "2-3 mins tops," we anticipate the role will be rather insignificant and more of a wink to comic book fans rather than a fully developed villain.
