My first product review - Foxtech Pivot V2S Landing Gear.
In short, I think this is the best landing gear set on the market for 810 and 960 sized multi rotors.
OVERVIEW:
Weight: 575 g (when replacing stock landing gear, you actually add less. 442 g in my case).
Height (for bottom plate to the ground): 32 cm
Stance: 50 cm
Angle: 85 degrees
Working voltage: 6V - 8.4V (check CONS section for more info)
Max current: 3A
PROS:
- High quality industrial design, all aluminium and carbon fiber. Very sturdy.
- Thick 25 mm tubes, long 50 cm stance.
- Provides very safe and stable landings.
- Looks awesome in the air.
- Enables you to mount most of the 3 axis GoPro and NEX gimbals for unobstructed 360 pan.
CONS:
- At 575 g I think it's a little bit heavy for 680 sized multi rotor. For 810 and 960 is a perfect fit. This is not really a con of the product.
- Even though it's advertised for 6V operating voltage, I sometimes experienced one leg (motor) starts and then immediately stops when folding/unfolding is activated. This is probably do to the fact that in locked position initial current draw on 6V is slightly high and over-current protection kicks in too early. If this happens in the air, just flip the switch one more time and the retracts will fold/unfold. Solution is easy. Simply use higher voltage. I find it flawless on 7.2V BEC or 2S LiPo. Don't go over 8.4V though.
