The Eachine E55 is a new folding quadcopter with WiFi FPV, altitude hold, flip mode, and 4-6 minutes of flight time.
The arms fold into the quadcopter very easily and leave you with a nice compact square for storing. Motors are mounted horizontally in each arm and the propellers connect via a gear.
The propeller blades are actually separated and each one moves on its own axis. This combined with the arms folding in seem to help in a crash to absorb some of the impact and it takes less damage.
Flight performance is speedy and when sitting still or moving slowly the altitude hold stays steady. When I say speedy I really mean it, even the lowest speed mode is able to fight wind outdoors and the high speed mode is even faster.
Unfortunately while moving the quadcopter loses significant altitude to the point where I sometimes couldn't counteract the loss with more throttle. This is really a major flaw for this one and if it didn't have that problem I think it would be one of the better WiFi FPV flyers.
Camera quality is about what you expect for a WiFi FPV quadcopter, actual videos are recorded at 640 x 480, and video latency depends entirely on signal strength between phone and drone.
Overall this is just an okay quadcopter, definitely speedy but the altitude loss kills most use of that extra speed. If I had to rate this one I'd give it a 6/10.
