Bob Bownes is a serial entrepreneur who has founded or contributed to over 10 start up phase companies. A contributor to the computer industry since the late 1970's, Bob, educated at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the State University of New York at Albany, has taken roles as an engineer, programmer, marketing executive, and Chief Technology Officer. As a founder of NeWorks Networking, he was instrumental in growing the company from ideas to paying customers to selling the company in 14 months. As the CTO of Tello, Bob extended concepts already at the core of the Internet to the new and emerging Voice Over IP marketplace. His latest effort is the Tech Valley Center of Gravity, a makerspace for individuals, organizations, and businesses. Bob lives in rural upstate New York.
