This is the video about the FPV transmitter tray that I mentioned in the "Phantom Bug Out Box video"
Although I normally fly FPV with the quad using goggles, I ran into a situation where I was trying to get some video but didn't have a hazard free airspace. There were lots of obstacles that I could run into such as super tall trees and overhead power lines. Unlike when you maintain forward flight, I had to back up and over some of these obstacles to get the shot I wanted and I was concerned that I would crash the quad into something that I couldn't see through the goggles.
A ground station wasn't the answer because I needed to be able to walk around the object to be able to see it from different angles and at the same time, navigate through the trees and power lines.
Cedric, a YouTube buddy of mine turned me onto the Secraft Transmitter Tray with the FPV monitor attachment.
Coincidentally, this is the same tray that Harv (featured in a zillion of my videos) uses to fly his planes but I didn't know they made the monitor bracket for it. I ordered one from Azhar at Aztech Aeromodels and it's been the ideal solution. Now, when I need to, I can fly line of sight to stay out of trouble and glance down whenever I want to see what the GoPro is seeing and recording. It is now easy to position the quad and/or hover in place and tilt the gimbal to whatever angle works best to get the shot.
