Next year’s Deadpool movie will introduce a new Colossus and we’ve got details from the actor playing him right now on Clevver News Feed. If you were disappointed on how “Colossus” was handled in the previous X-Men films, you’re in luck! While many fans were disappointed when it was revealed that original “Colossus” Daniel Cudmore had passed on reprising his role in next year’s Deadpool saying he wasn’t interested since it would be CGI and stunts and not his voice, others will probably be glad thanks to some recent comments from new “Colossus”, Andre Tricoteux. In a recent interview with Tech Time, Andre revealed that the version of the classic X-Men character we’ll see in the film will be more true to the original comic books saying director Tim Miller had a clear vision of what he wanted Colossus to be and that was one that was very traditional to the original story. While Colossus has always been a character mostly relegated to the background in previous films, Andre says we’ll delve deeper into the character in Deadpool saying quote, “I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is…I think people will get a better sense of who he is, but I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus has been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him…You're going to get to see a little bit more of who he is and kind of his outlook on the world.” Though Andre wouldn’t go into too much detail about his role in the film, he did hint that we will likely see Colossus speak with a Russian accent and we could also see him show up in his non-metallic form. While Colossus and Deadpool have had very little connection in the comic book universe, from the trailers it looks like we can expect some tension between the two characters. Andre did confirm that he will have some serious disagreements with several characters in the movie, but says working with Ryan Reynolds was a fantastic experience and says he quote, “knocked this one out of the park.” We can all judge for ourselves when Deadpool arrives in theaters on February 12th, but who out there is excited to hear we’ll be getting a Colossus more in line with the comic book version and would you like to see him get his own movie?
