More on safety issues at Tokoroa Airfield...
Should I be really pissed off?
Mr Roger Fisher of the South Waikato District Council has decided that *I* am the only person *in the entire world* who is expressly forbidden to fly RC models at this airfield -- apparently on the grounds of safety.
Yet, as you can see in this video, the SWDC have been doing maintenance work on the runways without even putting white crosses at the ends to signify that the runways are closed.
Yes, the work has been NOTAMed but, as we've seen, quite a few pilots never check the NOTAMs and there are some, who you've seen here, who also have difficulty recognising the fact that it's not safe to land on a runway that has vehicles on it.
What happened to the SWDC's oft-touted commitment to safety?
What a crock of shirt that is.
Dual standards? Absolutely!
Do as we say, not as we do? Without doubt!
How long before someone takes the issue of safety seriously around here -- instead of using it as a blunt political weapon to bruise those who dare to challenge the powers of bureaucracy by pointing out their duplicity and incompetence?
I'm sure the usual empty vessels will see nothing wrong with what's obviously evidenced in this video -- but these are the same folk who believe it's okay to convict and hang someone without evidence so we all know the massive level of prejudice and bias that drives their every comment.
And yes, Part 3 of this series (featuring lots of illegal model-flying) is coming shortly...
