I'm not a big long distance guy but I wanted to see what my Skyhunter could do since it had so much room for batts. My previous best was 12 miles with my Skywalker. I took the gopro off and added a 3rd 4S 5000. The goal today was 20 miles.
My old Canon video camera stops with any kind of static so it only worked for the first 12 miles and it didn't get the launch. The rest of the video was recorded with a Bevrc DVR. I know the video sucked but it was good enough to make it. :-)
I found out near the end of my run my patch wasn't pointing the exact direction I was flying. Wish I would have caught that sooner. Had a scary moment after I turned around and the video went out. I turned on RTH and lowered my patch closer to the ground. They say a patch uses the ground as a ground plane and should be close to the ground. I guess they were right. I had the tripod at max height so lowering it helped get my video back. Then I let RVOSD fly back most of the way home.
RVOSD said I used 12300mah. My charger put back 12900. Pretty close.
