Ryan Reynolds Deadpool Costume First Look!

If you were at all unsure whether next year’s Deadpool movie could stand up to the irreverent humor of the character seen in the comics then our first official look at Ryan Reynolds in costume should relieve any doubts. After 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, fans of the comic book anti-hero Deadpool have been clamoring for a proper portrayal of their favorite fourth wall breaking character on the big screen and if the first official pic of star Ryan Reynolds in costume is any indication, it looks like they we’ll definitely be getting what we asked for. Reynolds took to Twitter to make the official reveal posting this pic of him in costume laying in front of a roaring fire posed seductively on a bear skin rug. The caption reads quote, “With great power, comes great irresponsibility.” The quote is of course a play on fellow Marvel character Spider-Man’s famous quote with the pose being an homage to a nude photo Burt Reynolds did for Cosmopolitan back in the early 1970’s. Production on Deadpool is currently underway for a February 12th, 2016 release. According to the official synopsis, the film will be an origin story and focus on Special Forces operative turned mercenary “Wade Wilson” going through a rogue experiment that gives him accelerated healing powers. He sets out to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life. In addition to Reynolds, the film stars Morena Baccarin as the shape-shifting mutant Vanessa Carlysle, better known as “Copycat”, T.J. Miller as Deadpool’s best friend and arms dealer “Weasel” and Gina Carano as the mutant “Angel Dust” who has the power to generate superhuman strength. Popular X-Men member “Colossus” is also expected to appear, but no word yet on who will play him as Daniel Cudmore, who has had the role since 2003’s X2: X-Men United, announced he was being recast.
